Pain point
When searching to buy our first home, my wife and I knew we were willing to put sweat equity into a home if the neighborhood was right for us and our growing family. However, we found it extremely difficult to get a real feel for the neighborhood because we couldn’t talk to the homeowners.
SPARK
We thought about what we wished we had during this home buying process and realized that, more than just neighborhood information, we wanted to know the story of our home and the people who lived in it before us.
Impact
We created Hearth & Bean which allows sellers to document their home improvements and the love they have for their home (and neighborhood!) in an online journal that would be available for potential buyers to get to know the space better, as well as share neighborhood information such as frequency of block parties, are there a lot of kids in the area, etc.
This helped build buyer confidence that they were making the right decision when purchasing their home.
